What ever we’re experiencing in life is a demonstration of our active beliefs. Some have given the impression that we are victims of our beliefs, and that first statement may seem to confirm that. It doesn’t. It’s a gift of clarity. We are not victims of our beliefs. We created them to serve us and that’s exactly what they’re doing, even when the experiences they create are not what we want.
As brilliant beings with tremendous love and compassion, we chose to come into this life and experience certain things in order to fulfill a specific purpose. We designed early childhood experiences that would create beliefs, or rather whole systems of beliefs, that would allow us to have the experiences later in life that would make it possible to fulfill our purpose. Each of us needed to forget who we really are in order to participate in this dualistic “reality.” The early experiences and beliefs we created made it possible to do so.
The problem for many of us has been recognizing and releasing beliefs that no longer serve us. They continue to create experiences that range from bothersome to devastating. These experiences can be so unpleasant or frustrating that we do everything in our power to avoid them, resist them, or deny them. We know that our vibrational frequency determines what we allow into our experience, so doesn’t it make sense to turn our attention away from that which frustrates us? Yes and no. It is important to reach for the highest state of Joy, Love, and appreciation that we can. However, if we haven’t cleared out the garbage, no amount of window dressing will cover up the stench.
It’s time to recognise our beliefs as the powerful tools that they are, and our experiences as gifts. Each and every experience is a gift that demonstrates to us our active beliefs. When we recognise a belief, see where it came from, and accept the gift it holds, we can release it. Beliefs and fears are closely linked, so looking at our fears can bring us clarity about our beliefs. Compulsive or unconscious behaviors are also great indicators of our beliefs.
All limiting beliefs stem from the shared core belief in separation, which will be the last to go. There are interim beliefs, between what we consciously believe and the basic system of beliefs that were necessary to exist and participate in this world. Those interim beliefs create the every day experiences of our lives and how we react. We’re not going after the core belief of separation right now, although that is the ultimate goal. Imagine going from living in 30 degree temperatures all the time to suddenly having your whole environment become 110 degrees. It would be unbearable. We can however, easily adapt to higher temperatures with a gradual increase. I grew up in the Chicago area where we experienced cold temperatures for most of the year. Now I live in Arizona where it’s about 110 degrees for two months every year. It doesn’t bother me now, but it did take time to adjust.
As we release limiting beliefs, our vibrational frequency increases. It’s just like the example of temperatures. Jumping from a very low frequency to a very high one would cause great discomfort and stress. That’s counter-productive. What we want to do is raise our frequency steadily to higher and higher levels so that once in a higher frequency, we are able to function in it.
The first step is looking at our lives to see what we've been demonstrating. What are the repeating patterns? What keeps showing up, no matter what else we change? That's the evidence of powerful beliefs that are designing our lives.
The next post will discuss an easy way to discover our operating beliefs, receive the gift from them, and let them go.
