Do You Know the Emissary of Light?

James Twyman has been called the Emissary of Light and the Peace Troubadour for his passionate, unending work for peace in the world. James has performed concerts all over the world, often in war zones, where conflict ceased and healing began as he played his inspired music. James has also written 10 books and produced or directed 4 films. He is president of The Beloved Community, which offers classes to help people rediscover the Love that lives within them and how to bring that out into the world.

My first encounter with the Emissary of Light was in May of 2000. He was performing in SE California as the focal point of a world wide peace prayer event. There is a perfectly round building there with incredible acoustics. The music was like nothing I'd ever heard before. What moved me even more was the gentleness, strength, and light of James' spirit. After the concert, about 100 people went to a huge boulder in the desert. It had split in two for no apparent reason about a month before. It was the largest free-standing boulder in the U.S. until then. The Native American Elders said that it splitting was a foretold sign of the changing times; that it indicated a shift in humanity and Earth that would bring about the transition into a new world.

Shamans prayed in the four directions. Then we had a drumming ceremony that finished with walking around the boulder and through the split while singing, "Peace prevails on Earth." I didn't really understand all the elements present at that time, but it moved me in a way words can't describe.

In May of 2007, I could not attend the peace event held in Jerusalem, where almost 5,000 people held hands around the old city, but I joined them in prayer and meditation. It was part of the four-month long "Season of Non-Violence." Now, I am participating in the efforts to create a peaceful, nurturing world with my new blog, Intending Awakening, and new Squidoo lens, James Twyman, Emissary of Light. You can learn more there about what The Beloved Community does, see pictures of events around the world, and read about how James became the Emissary of Light.
